UBEES raises €8M to scale pollination-driven agriculture

UBEES is a French startup reshaping agriculture by harnessing the role of pollinators. By combining advanced beekeeping technology with sustainable agricultural practices, the company helps growers and global brands build stronger, more profitable, and environmentally responsible supply chains. Its mission is to work across the value chain, from farmers to multinational brands, to support net-zero commitments and advance regenerative agriculture goals.

The funding round was co-led by European investment funds Starquest and Capagro, with participation from Newtree Impact. The capital will be used to scale UBEES’ impact by further supporting farmers, reinforcing agricultural supply chains, and restoring biodiversity, while continuing to innovate through connected hives, data-driven insights, and robust impact measurement.

According to UBEES data, bee populations have declined by 46% over the past decade, while 75% of global food crops rely on pollination, underscoring the importance of the company’s mission. Founded in the US, UBEES expanded into Europe and Latin America in 2023, followed by Africa and Asia in 2024.
