Afterwind’s first strategic acquisition to expand on-site wind turbine blade cutting capabilities

Afterwind, the Sweedish startup building Europe's Circular Advanced Materials Platform for the global composites market, founded by Julia Minici, has completed its first strategic acquisition with the purchase of selected assets from the bankruptcy estate of Advantis A/S in Denmark. This marks an important milestone in the company's long-term strategy to build a leading European Circular Advanced Materials Platform for composite assets. 

The transaction includes Advantis' proprietary wind turbine blade cutting equipment, intellectual property, patents and associated technology. Together, these assets strengthen Afterwind's technology platform while expanding its operational capabilities for industrial-scale composite recycling and on-site servicing of large composite structures. 

The technology builds on years of engineering and technology development by the Advantis team, supported by European innovation funding, and laid the foundation for the blade cutting technology and intellectual property now being integrated into Afterwind's platform. By preserving and further developing these innovations, Afterwind aims to accelerate their commercial deployment as part of its industrial-scale circular solutions for composite recycling. 

By integrating these capabilities into its operations, Afterwind adds the ability to perform on-site wind turbine blade cutting and sectioning of other oversized composite structures, enabling more efficient recovery, transportation and recycling of materials. This further strengthens the company's ability to 

support wind farm owners, OEMs and industrial partners throughout the entire value chain—from asset recovery and logistics to the production of fully traceable Circular Advanced Materials. 

The transaction also establishes Afterwind's presence in Denmark, expanding the company's footprint across the Nordic region and bringing its circular solutions closer to customers and partners. More broadly, it reflects Afterwind's long-term strategy of combining proprietary technology with targeted acquisitions to accelerate innovation and expand its Circular Advanced Materials Platform.
